Local BMX Shop Owner: Also Dew Tour Track Designer

When Eddie Buckley is not knee deep in running his BMX/Skateboarded shop 50/50 in Layton, Utah, he is knee deep in dirt and mud designing the track for the BMX course for the Dew Tour. This weekend (23-24 July), Eddie will once again be showcasing his talents as the Nike 6.0 BMX Open comes to Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. “The track is just more than kickers and bumps,” Eddie says. “I try to design a challenge and I’m constantly looking to challenge myself.”

With two more stops of the dew tour before it comes to Salt Lake, Eddie is working up some new ideas for how to make the Salt Lake track his masterpiece of the year.

The Dew Tour consists of five major, multi-sport events spanning across the country, with a cumulative points system, a $2.5 million competitive purse a bonus pool at year-end based on overall tour standings. The Tour features skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert and dirt) and freestyle motocross. At season’s end, the overall points leaders in the five disciplines will be crowned year-end champions and awarded the prestigious Dew Cup.

So gear up Salt Lake, the action sport event of the year is right on your doorstep. Stay tuned to T Squared and In Utah This Week magazine for complete coverage so you don’t miss a thing.
