With three races to go before the Supercross Championships fire up in Las Vegas, Ryan Villopoto clinched his second straight Supercross title in Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas.
“It’s huge,” Villopoto said in a statement through Monster Energy Supercross. “There is a lot of hard work that went into this, and I am only one piece of the pie; the whole Monster Energy Kawaski team has worked very hard all year to make this happen.”
With eight wins in thirteen races, Villopoto took home the championship with a dominating performance keeping the number 1 plate on the front of his bike for the 2012-2013 season.
Fan favorite James “Bubba” Stewart came in last place. Stewart has seen his share of struggles throughout the season racking up numerous crashes at numerous events.
