Leading up to and through the elimination rounds of Skateboarding Big Air, the domination of kids of the mega ramp dominated the social talk. In the end, veteran Bob Burnquist showed that he still reigns supreme.

For the fourth time in seven Big Air apperances at the X Games, Burnquist took home the gold using an Indie 720 over the Gap to fakie to secure it.

“The X Games have been amazing a great event, Burnquist said. “To be here at this venue on this stage with the progression of skateboarding, I could not have done this without everyone who has helped me out along the way. I definitely could not have done this alone.”

15 year old skate phenom, Mitchie Brusco led the youth movement to the podium to claim silver. Using a run that included a 720 over the gap to a 900.

“I am the happiest person alive right now,” Brusco said. “I did runs I never thought I could, and I did everything I knew how to do, I had nothing more to give and everything worked out. Pulling the 900 off of the 70-footer was one of the scariest things I have ever done.”
